The foundation
“Dressing well is a kind of good manners, if you ask me. When you’re standing in a room, your effect is the same as a chair’s effect or a sculpture’s. You’re part of someone’s view, you’re part of that world, and so you should dress well. I find it’s a show of respect to try to put on your best face and look as good as you can.”
–Tom Ford
Tom Ford’s views on simply dressing well are exactly why it’s important to care about what you look like. Sometimes, that’s easier said than done. But this quote could provide the very basis for any conversation about #menswear; there’s more to wearing clothes than simply putting them on, or doing so to fill a specific niche. It’s tough to draw the line with what’s on trend and what fits within your own personality, and sometimes, the two don’t align. But wearing clothes that you like, clothes that fit well and are situationally appropriate, is the biggest (and first) key. Have questions? Hopefully, I’ve got the answers. Check out the rest of the site for plenty more.
