Thirsty Monk Trail Monk IPA — Price Varies

An IPA brewed with orange zest for a good (no, great) cause benefitting the outdoors. Photo courtesy of Thirsty Monk.
Here’s the thing about craft beer — if you’re willing to seek it out, you’re going to find excellent local and regional brews in plenty of places. And if you live in or near Portland, Asheville or Denver (three of my favorite cities!), you know the joys of the terrific “Belgian-rooted ales” being produced at Thirsty Monk’s brewpubs. That list includes the new Trail Monk IPA, made with orange peel and zest for a bittersweet zing at the finish. I had the chance to visit the excellent Asheville Downtown location, and I can’t recommend it enough — what’s more, portion of proceeds from sales of Trail Monk will benefit Blue Ridge Parkway Foundation in Asheville, the Colorado Fourteeners Initiative in Denver, and Trailkeepers of Oregon. Craft beer that tastes great AND gives back? That’s nearly too good to be true!

Even better? It’s made with incredibly soft 100 percent baby yak.

No matter the rest of your gear rotation, it’ll always pay off to ensure the details are taken care of — such as with a pair of some of the best men’s boxer briefs from Jumper. Comfort and breathabilty are what you’re getting here.
