My friends, we’ve made it to another fall Friday, and I can’t think of a better way to kick off a fall weekend than by enjoying, say, one of the best fall beers from Sierra Nevada. In fact, I’ve certainly had my fair share of Sierra Nevada these past few days, all as part of my many freelance writing pursuits.
The pioneering craft brewer, which helped put hoppy microbrews on the map decades ago, was kind enough to invite a select group of journalists to its wonderful Asheville location, where we toured the brewery, went behind-the-scenes at every level of Sierra Nevada, and of course, sampled plentiful beers, some of which you’ll see very soon as part of my seasonal beer coverage at sites like Maxim.com.
The brewery was one of the first I learned about and enjoyed in the craft beer space, and you might say the rest is, well, history. Of course, you can keep with all the fun (and my musings in the meantime) over on my Instagram. Talk about a whirlwind handful of days.

It’s all been more than enough to keep me plenty busy this week, along with my regular writing pursuits at Maxim.com, AskMen.com and this very blog (to name but a few), but I’ve managed to do it all while dressed accordingly in the best fall style from retailers like Huckberry.
I also had some time to explore Asheville on foot on my own, more than four years after I first visited the outdoorsy, craft beer and rugged style-focused mountain town. In fact, on my last visit there, I had the chance to check out Thirsty Monk Brewpub, a hallowed space in the scene, and I was ever so pleased to get the chance on Wednesday to visit again.

From the opportunity to tour and taste my way through Sierra Nevada, to the chance to explore a lovely city in style, I sincerely appreciated every second of it. If ever you get the chance to go to Asheville, consider this my recommendation. The location is tranquil, the views are serene, the beer is excellent and it all makes for a terrific fall visit.
Oh, and in the meantime: Stay tuned for a return to all things #menswear with our two weekend posts here at The Style Guide. Cheers, thanks for reading and stay stylish (and thirsty!).
