I often say here on this Brooklyn style blog that they don’t quite make fall menswear staples like they used to, unless one of the brands in the pursuit of excellence is a company like Taylor Stitch. And that brings us to the long-awaited return of the Taylor Stitch Good Acre Collection, a series of tough, hard-wearing and impossibly rugged USA-made workwear staples.
The fact that they arrive just in time for fall is quite the nice bonus, and it’s pieces like the Taylor Stitch Good Acre Chore Pants that are going to bolster your fall workwear wardrobe quite nicely indeed. Let’s count the ways, shall we?

The San Francisco company, one of my very favorite menswear brands on the market, debuted the Good Acre Collection more than a decade ago with an intense focus on the best workwear on the market. Now, the collection returns in full force with California-produced work staples fit for any fall adventure.

As Taylor Stitch notes, “these pieces are built to stand up to any task and get better with each wear,” and the key really lies in the use of USA-made canvas from Mt. Vernon Mills. That gives the Taylor Stitch Good Acre Chore Pants a burly, tough and yet supple edge. 12oz. duck canvas, designed to stand up to abrasions, wind, rain and debris, is then given a classic medium rise for mobility, plus a tailored (yet not overly tight) fit.

Features like angled hip pockets offer easy access to your everyday carry essentials, while those pockets are also bar-tacked for added durability. Double-reinforced knees are yet another distinctly tough detail, while the Taylor Stitch Good Acre Chore Pants even boast a pen sleeve for added utility.
If it seems like Taylor Stitch thought of everything with these pants, it’s because, well, they almost certainly did.

The Taylor Stitch Good Acre Chore Pants are also a winner in matters of looks as well as utility. They’re an ideal pairing with a Taylor Stitch organic cotton henley, for instance, and they also serve as a more hard-wearing pair of true work pants when you want to trade in your Taylor Stitch selvedge jeans. And judging by the photo above, these handsome, durable work pants are in it for the long haul — for this decade and the next.
