Perhaps that title’s misleading, as it’s not the Academy giving out any awards — it’s just me! And this pick doesn’t relate to film, but rather the male stars who walked the red carpet — and one exceptionally well-dressed guy in particular.
I admittedly didn’t see many of this year’s films, so the menswear get-ups on display were arguably my biggest focus (for more on that, check out my Twitter feed here). While Eddie Redmayne, John Legend and Bradley Cooper put on admirable dressing displays, and while host Neil Patrick Harris wore five standout tuxes throughout the night (a hugely unfair advantage!), my pick for best-dressed in just one ensemble goes to Chris Pratt. Everyone’s new favorite leading man, Pratt was kitted out in a masculine, classic Tom Ford shawl-collar number with bold lapels that perfectly suited his strong build.
Tom Ford’s luxury finishes are probably the most red carpet-worthy of any American menswear designer today, and Pratt held up that standing well. His accessories were nicely done, from the crisp white pocket square to relatively trim yet not overly-tailored pants and sharp black shoes. Pratt definitely led the pack last night — if you have to dress up that much any time soon, he’d be a good star to emulate.
Who’s your pick for best-dressed among the guys? What’d you think of the show?
