There’s always a lot going on, it seems, in the menswear world (which you know all too well if you keep up with this blog!). There are plentiful collaborations to sort through on a daily basis, but when one has a narrow focus for a great cause — in this case, sustainably making some of the best men’s jeans on the market — it’s enough to make you sit up, take notice and secure your pair ASAP.

In this instance, the new collaboration in question is one I’ve personally tried out and can certainly vouch for: To keep it simple, Billy Reid and Citizens of Humanity just made your new favorite pair of jeans. Join me as we dive in a bit further, yes?

The idea is fairly simple, and I think you’ll love the results. The all-American designer, best known for making James Bond’s peacoat of choice (along with rugged-yet-luxe takes on the classics) teamed up with one of his personal favorite brands on a stylish denim capsule collection. Not a bad thing to keep in mind as holiday dressing season ramps up, right?

And the idea is about as customized as it gets, too: Billy Reid took on the Adler Jean, a fan favorite at Citizens of Humanity, and worked with the brand to design three exclusive washes, ranging from a dressy, crisp dark blue indigo to a more casual, faded indigo stretch jean.

I’ve tried out the Medium Indigo Jeans and have found them comfortable, made to move and made to go everywhere from a brewery to a Brooklyn rock show. The denim fabric is also soft right out of the box, and the little details are a work of art (seriously!).

And the fit is of the utmost importance here, too. It’s also worth noting that since this is ultra-premium men’s denim we’re talking about here, these are an investment at $278 — but trust me when I say that in my personal experience, they’re more than worth it.

These lean more towards a slim-straight fit in my experience, with a higher rise, a more full waist and a taper down to the ankle. In short, the Billy Reid x Citizens of Humanity Jeans hit all the right notes, all the while featuring details like a handsome custom leather patch and subtle branding.
