If you’ve been keeping up with the blog as of late (and I certainly hope you have been!), then you’re well aware of the need to stay polished and stylish — even as the high heat of summer sticks around. In fact, staying polished yet comfortable is a crucial component of any #OOTD in any season.

And here’s where I’d like you to meet one of my new favorite buttondown shirts. I’ve tried out upstate New York-based Sea Culture over these past few months to great effect, and I’ve been especially impressed with the Sea Culture Marin Buttondown.

It’s got all the tried-and-true bells and whistles of one of the best shirts for men (like a flattering fit, a handsome collar and a design that looks good tucked in with one of the best men’s blazers or casually untucked with stylish blue jeans).

Unlike some other shirts — even one of the best Oxford shirts, which might prove a bit too heavy for summer — this one is made of a stretchy nylon blend, so it’s got more in common with a stylish performance dress shirt.

And yet, it’s more casual than a dress shirt, so it wears well in business casual situations (unlike dress shirts, which are cut longer and made to be worn tucked in). Sea Culture also specializes in breezy, coastal-inspired gear, like one of the best men’s henleys in a super-soft fabric.

And yet, this piece is a change of pace for when you head in from the beach and get ready to head into town to snag a Negroni or a cold beer.
