Rest assured, it’s still a very difficult and challenging time out there, so thank you for stopping by the blog. Here we are on yet another Friday — first off, have you picked up your new favorite T-shirt (as seen above), or a last-minute Father’s Day gift? If not, it’s time to get on that — and there’s no better place to go than Huckberry, which recently launched the Forty Five Tee. You’ve read about these stylish T-shirts on the blog, but if you’re just getting up to speed, know that Huckberry focused on crafting the best men’s T-shirt … and only that. It’s similar to how the 45RPM record featured just one perfect single (and changed how people collected vinyl records forever). In addition to those tees, we’ll also have plenty of cool ways to kick off the rest of your weekend in today’s Friday Read. Although all of our plans look a bit different this year for Father’s Day, I’d urge you to celebrate with the fathers and father figures in your life however best you can — and maybe stop by the Huckberry Father’s Day Shop or the Todd Snyder Father’s Day Shop to get a last-second gift??
As for me, things are slowly reopening around NYC, a positive given that I can now more directly support some of my favorite businesses, from coffee shop Qathra to whiskey bar Sycamore. I’m also still missing live music more than ever, but doing what I can to support by viewing livestreams and benefit shows by the likes of Audiotree. It’s all about doing your part — I hope that’s the case in your region as well. These businesses need our support more than ever (and that goes for a great deal many menswear brands, too!). With that in mind, let’s dig into a few brands that could use our support at the moment — some you’ll recognize, certainly. Enjoy your weekend, thanks for reading & stay safe!
- It’s hard not to love the men’s grooming essentials being produced by Duke Cannon. If you can believe it, the brand is even taking things a step further in its support of military veterans. What’s the scoop? They recently launched the great Duke Cannon x Budweiser collection, fittingly named the Patriot Collection. This collection updates the brand’s Great American Beer Soaps with cool packaging, and $5 from every purchase goes toward helping military scholarship organization Folds of Honor. Talk about standout grooming for a great cause.
- Let’s take things back East for a second, shall we? It’s been a pleasure and an honor to follow along with what legendary menswear designer Todd Snyder dreams up season after season — including the sporting heritage-inspired Todd Snyder Racquet Club. I covered the launch of the new Todd Snyder spring collection for GearMoose, (if you haven’t read it yet), so check out that feature if you want gear for hot days and breezy summer nights. Oh, and another thing: Todd Snyder’s 40% off sale runs now through the 24th, so be sure to shop that sale now here.
- If you’re not yet acquainted with, say, a stylish denim jacket as part of your summer wardrobe, might I suggest you change that? In fact, you can read all about the Levi’s Light Wash Trucker Jacket via this post on the blog here. It’s the perfect jacket for summer, what with its ability to be worn atop everything from a classic tee to your favorite polo.
- If you read the site regularly, you know that we’re all about the best everyday carry essentials — but what about the best way to store your EDC gear? Well, that’s where one of my latest features for GearMoose comes into play — head to the site to check out the tough, durable Dango EDC Tray to handle the best EDC picks for your daily grind.
Alright, so before I let you go for the weekend, I’m going to direct you toward yet another must-buy for the season. Namely, you’re going to need a stylish polo or three for the hot summer months. On that note, the exceptional Taylor Stitch Heavy Bag Polo could just be the perfect purchase to sort out your summer wardrobe. Read more here via the Style Pick of the Week series. OK, my friends. That’s going to wrap things up. Stay safe out there.
