#OOTD: How to Dress for Holiday Travel This Year

OK, Style Guide readers — who’s ready for today’s #OOTD? It’s a special — and especially busy — time of year, what with holiday shopping at a fever pitch and Christmas on the way. If you’re still shopping for a gift for her, or a gift for him, I’m sure this site’s guides can definitely help out. And if, in the meantime, you want to know how to dress for holiday travel this year? The below #menswear look is going to get you set up nice … real nice. Dressing for winter travel is all about maximizing both comfort and style, from a classic striped sweater right down to the best weekender bag to bring with you (yes, your weekender bag should certainly be stylish). The rest of this look centers around basics done right, including an everyday chambray shirt — the workhorse of your wardrobe — and versatile, travel-friendly chinos. Trust me, this look will work in nearly any holiday travel style situation, from heading home to see your parents to hopping on a cross-country flight to visit your current (or future) in-laws. Have any additional thoughts or questions? Get at me on Twitter or via The Style Guide Facebook page. Let’s get to it!

The right combination of travel-friendly style and casual comfort.

The Duffle: Tanner Goods Nomad Duffel in Tan, $400 — Let’s start with the good stuff, yes? The rugged Tanner Goods Nomad Duffel is a bit less in-your-face than an athletic duffel, and it’s certainly more stylish — perfect for a long weekend away.

The Sweater: Grayers Athletics Palmer Fleece Stripe Crew, $78 — The Grayers Athletics line blends easygoing style with vintage inspiration, making the Palmer Fleece Stripe a serious upgrade in a sea of airport hoodies.

The Chambray Shirt: Taylor Stitch The California Shirt in Blue Everyday Chambray, $118— A classic chambray shirt is, as we always say here on the blog, a four-season essential — and that’s certainly true when plenty around you might be wearing sweats or logo tees. Yes indeed, the Taylor Stitch Everyday Chambray is a winner.

The Chinos: Taylor Stitch Travel Chinos in British Khaki, $128 — What better pair of classic men’s chinos to throw on than the aptly named Taylor Stitch Travel Chinos? Much sharper than sweatpants — and the Taylor Stitch Slim Chinos are also just as travel-ready.

The Shoes: Astorflex Greenflex in Dark Khaki, $145 — While you could certainly throw on classic leather sneakers and call it good, a pair of stylish suede chukka boots are appropriate leaving your home & arriving at your new destination with style and ease.
The Socks: American Trench The Kennedy Luxury Athletic Sock, $19.50 — What’s perhaps more important than the right pair of footwear? The right pair of socks. No holes to be found in these American Trench socks, at once sporty and stylish.

The Belt: Tanner Goods Classic Belt in Cognac, $100 — Alright, I know you’ve got to slip off your belt when you go through security … but at least the Tanner Goods Classic Belt looks great, right?

The Watch: Vague Watch Co. Brown GMT Watch, $290 — In the realm of underrated travel accessories sits the stylish leather watch. Better-looking than a sports watch (and pricier), the Vague Watch Co. Brown GMT gives you all-day style.
Did the above #OOTD make packing and dressing for holiday travel just a bit easier? That’s the goal, anyways. When you set out for a great holiday with the Tanner Goods Nomad Duffel, I’d argue things are off to a heck of a good start — keep that in mind the next time you pack up. And if you complement that stylish weekender bag with the Palmer Fleece Stripe, you might even just impress whoever’s picking you up from the airport — in-laws included. The Taylor Stitch Everyday Chambray is a tremendous upgrade over the standard logo tee or hoodie, while the equally versatile Taylor Stitch Travel Chinos are the pair of pants you didn’t know you needed for holiday travel. The same can be said for the Astorflex Greenflex Chukka Boots, a pair of classic suede chukkas that stand out stylishly at the airport and work just as well at the local watering hole. In the way of accessories, the Tanner Goods Classic Belt is going to work all weekend in situations both casual and more dressy, as is the supremely stylish Vague Watch Co. Brown GMT. Before we depart, don’t forget the Kennedy Luxury Athletic Socks — they’re way better than wearing an old pair of socks to the airport, I guarantee it. If you put all those pieces together, you’re going to be plenty ready for holiday travel … and whatever comes next.
Thanks for reading, and safe travels out there!

#OOTD: Wear This Sharp Outfit To Your Holiday Party

Alright, my friends — ready to commence the search for what to wear to a holiday party? Maybe you’ve already kicked off the season in earnest, but when it comes to holiday cocktails, office parties and more formal affairs … it’s a marathon, not a sprint. Right? Right. That means we’re focused on easily wearable, classic items that can go from the office to the bar with ease. You might already own some of these pieces, or they might be making their way onto your holiday wish list, but rest assured… you’re going to look great. We’re starting with a classic herringbone blazer, then adding pieces like a tailored white dress shirt and stylish wool trousers — building blocks of many a winter ensemble. And when the time comes to take on the snow and slush? Sharp, weather-ready Hudson Shoes Chelsea boots are your best bet. I won’t spoil the fun, though. You can find the full #OOTD below! Let me know what you think in the comments, and enjoy the season!

We’ve got the goods when it comes to sharp, tailored dressing for the season.

The Blazer: Ledbury Lochaven Herringbone Jacket, $444.98 — If you need a stylish herringbone blazer for winter, the splurge-worthy Lochaven Herringbone Jacket from Ledbury is the one to buy.

Not Pictured: Abercrombie & Fitch Italian Wool Topcoat, $150 (When On-Sale) — The topcoat is ultimately optional in this look, particularly if there’s no snow on the ground yet (that’s where the American Trench scarf comes into play). But if you want a great-looking, affordable topcoat? Buy one from Abercrombie & Fitch.

The Dress Shirt: Taylor Stitch The Hyde in White Royal Oxford, $98 — As we’ve said before, Taylor Stitch really can do no wrong — that goes for a tailored men’s dress shirt like the Hyde in White Royal Oxford.

The Tie: Neck & Tie Co. Chambray Nutmeg Tie, $46 — Nod toward the season without going overboard with this finely crafted Neck & Tie Co. piece — the nutmeg color is smooth and winter-friendly (just like your favorite bourbon).
The Trousers: Taylor Stitch The Telegraph Trouser in Navy Donegal, $178 — We turn yet again to richly crafted menswear from Taylor Stitch — the Navy Donegal Telegraph Trousers are simply excellent.

The Boots: Hudson Shoes Wynford Chelsea Boots, $230 — When winter weather hits, you want to get around with functionality and fashion in mind — stylish Chelsea boots from Hudson Shoes are a huge help.

The Watch: About Vintage 1815 Chronograph, $349 — There are everyday watches, and then there’s the stylish dress watch you need for your holiday party. The About Vintage 815 Chronograph is that watch.

The Socks: American Trench Sawtooth Argyle Socks, $29.50  — We’ve talked on the blog in the past about how choosing the right pair of socks makes a big difference — the Sawtooth Argyle Socks from  American Trench toe the line (pun intended) between dressy and comfortable style.
The Scarf: American Trench Navy Cashmere Scarf, $180 — We’re closing things out on a high note with classic accessories from American Trench — the brand’s Navy Cashmere Scarf is simply top-of-the-line.

While I can’t speak for the quality of the party or parties you might be attending, I can vouch for the fact that if you throw on something like the Lochaven Herringbone Jacket, you’re going to be off to a truly great start. Supplementing a classic herringbone blazer with other essentials — like what just might be the perfect white dress shirt — is always a smart move, while a handsome Neck & Tie Co. tie nods toward the season just enough. The Navy Donegal Telegraph Trousers are a job VERY well-done by our pals at Taylor Stitch, and they should sit just right when worn with the Hudson Shoes Wynford Chelsea Boots. On the accessories front, keeping your socks and scarf stylish and comfortable are critical, so the Navy Cashmere Scarf and Sawtooth Argyle Socks from American Trench  are absolutely ready for your holiday party. I’ll close here by saying that you should absolutely splurge on the About Vintage 815 Chronograph for this occasion (and plenty of other dressy situations). Bring along a favorite spirit for your host (or boss), and enjoy the evening in style. Cheers!

#OOTD: This Is the Right Way to Wear a Blazer This Winter

Finding the right blazer for winter presents some challenges. You want to nail the fit and the quality, for one. But you don’t want to shell out high triple-digits for a stylish winter blazer (as you might find at a retailer like Bonobos or J. Crew nowadays). So, what’s a guy to do? That’s what today’s #OOTD is diving into — and our featured blazer, the Grayers Hutton Moleskin Sportcoat — is a heck of a perfect blazer for cold weather, and it’s certainly one of the best men’s blazers you can snag now. That it checks that critical box while also providing quality and a great fit (plus an agreeable price) is simply too good.  And the great thing about a tailored-yet-casual jacket like the Hutton Sportcoat is the ease with which it pairs with your other favorite men’s style essentials, from a Taylor Stitch Everyday Oxford to classic khaki chinos and stylish leather chukka boots. You  know what’s even more critical when it comes to the Grayers Hutton Moleskin Sportcoat? That all-important winter fabric and texture, geared for warmth and seasonally apprpriate style.  So, ready to change the way you think about your winter blazer? That’s great, ‘cuz I’m ready to get after it. Good luck out there!

The Blazer: Grayers Hutton Moleskin Sportcoat (Huckberry Exclusive), $195  — Ahh, yes — the Grayers Hutton Moleskin Sportcoat that we previously discussed. As classic a winter blazer as it gets, Grayers has nailed the perfect balance between classic and casual tailoring.

The Shirt: Taylor Stitch The Jack Shirt in Black Everyday Oxford, $98 — Think mixing black and blue is a no-no? The handsome, stylish Oxford shirt that is the Jack Shirt from Taylor Stitch should dispel that notion — it’s a crisp, classic men’s Oxford.
The Chinos: Taylor Stitch Travel Chinos in British Khaki, $128 — In keeping with the classic nature of this #menswear ensemble, reach for, fittingly enough, a classic pair of men’s chinos made with versatile, travel-ready touches. Taylor Stitch does it again.
The Boots: Nisolo Emilio Chukka Boots, $198 — Because we’re tackling how to wear a blazer for winter, durable leather chukka boots are going to be an absolute must — the Nisolo Emilio Chukka Boots manage to be sleek and functional at the same time.
The Socks: American Trench Breton Stripe Socks, $14.50 — Why are there two pairs of American Trench socks in the above grid? Well, you get two for $14.50 — a stylish pair of socks to complete this outfit sounds pretty good, right?
The Belt: Levi’s Indigo Roller Belt, $48 —  Didn’t know that Levi’s made stylish men’s belts? The Indigo Roller Belt is unique in terms of color and texture, just what you should be looking for when it comes time to step out in style.
The Watch: Alsta Nautoscaph II Watch, $879 — Looking for an investment-level watch? The sharp, durable Alsta Nautoscaph II Watch is ready for anything — including being paired with a stylish winter blazer.
The Pomade: Rudy’s Shine Pomade, $22  — Because this look is ready for a holiday party or a day at the office in equal measure, a slick-looking haircut is a must — style it with Rudy’s Shine Pomade.

Are we now more acquainted with the best blazer to wear this winter? I think I’m ready for the season. The cold weather-ready nature of the Grayers Hutton Moleskin Sportcoat makes it a perfect winter tailoring choice, and it’s reliably complemented by the classic Taylor Stitch Jack Shirt — don’t be afraid to mix black and blue, folks.  The Taylor Stitch Travel Chinos are also a winning part of this look, giving you the style and flexibility to navigate slippery terrain with the durability of the Nisolo Emilio Chukka Boots. The Alsta Nautoscaph II Watch is also a perfect winter watch pick, mixing a tough design with sleek, dressy-yet-casual style. Accessories like the Indigo Roller Belt and the American Trench Breton Stripe Socks help tie things together, too. Ready to step out in style for winter? You’ve got this, I know it. Just rock the Grayers Hutton Moleskin Sportcoat, and you’re in business.

#OOTD: How to Wear Chelsea Boots for Fall and Winter Weather

Ahh, yes — we’re back for another #OOTD here on The Style Guide, and here’s the even better news: We’re really digging into tailored menswear for colder weather. You’re going to love it, or your money back. Stylish men’s Chelsea boots are an essential that shouldn’t be slept on, even if you haven’t yet shopped around for the perfect pair yet.  They’re a style of shoe that’s at once sleek and refined, yet edgy — there’s a reason rock stars love these boots. Now, we’ve previously talked the best pair of Chelsea boots to buy for fall, and we’re upping the ante a bit here today. The Hudson Shoes Wynford Chelsea Boots are just the ticket, and they’re potentially among the best men’s Chelsea boots. Specifically, we’re looking at how you can wear your new favorite Chelsea boots with a bit of tailored edge. So, think a stylish cardigan, slim wool trousers and of course,  a classic dress watch. You’re going to recognize plenty of other winter style essentials in this #menswear look, too — from an American-made cashmere scarf to surprisingly stylish men’s socks. If that all sounds great to you, then read on. Let me know your feedback in the comments, and I’m always up to chat on Twitter! Talk soon.

Sleek Chelsea boots done up in refined, sharp fashion. Perfect for fall and winter, no?

The Chelsea Boots: Hudson Shoes Wynford Chelsea Boots, $230 — Here’s the centerpiece of this outfit — a pair of stylish, sleek Chelsea boots. Crafted from rich, dark brown leather and featuring no-frills styling potential, the Wynford Chelsea Boots from Hudson Shoes couldn’t have come into your wardrobe at a better time.

The Cardigan: Mollusk Surf Shop Jeffrey Sweater in Cloud Grey, $180 — What better way to offset a pair of refined Chelsea boots than with a slightly rugged, stylish shawl collar cardigan? This is the kind of classic cardigan that a fella like James Bond might wear.

The Shirt: Corridor NYC Check Flannel Shirt, $159.98 — Quite simply, Corridor NYC makes astonishingly beautiful, classic shirting right here in NYC — the Check Flannel Shirt is a nicely tailored, dressy complement to this ensemble (and it features a winter-friendly wool blend).

The Trousers: Taylor Stitch Telegraph Trousers in Navy Donegal, $178 — While you can really wear your favorite Chelsea boots any way you want, slim wool trousers — especially the handsome Telegraph Trousers from Taylor Stitch — are a perfectly tailored move.

The Scarf: American Trench Cashmere Scarf in Red Flecked, $180 — Although you could certainly throw on a slim topcoat to finish off this outfit, a cashmere scarf from American Trench is a cool way to layer up in style while adding visual interest to a classic shawl collar cardigan.

The Socks: Anonymousism Boucle Mix Socks, $18 — As I always say here on this blog, don’t sleep on stylish accessories — particularly well-made socks from Anonymousism. Simply designed, well-made and stylish, the Boucle Mix Socks are a refined finishing touch.

The Watch: About Vintage 1815 Chronograph, $349 — What’s the one small accessory — besides stylish socks — that can both define an outfit and add quite a lot of style to said outfit? A classic men’s dress watch. This vintage-style About Vintage Chronograph is sharp and refined.

The Belt: Tanner Goods Standard Belt, $104.98 — Last but not least, we can’t forget a simply designed, durable men’s belt — especially not the excellent Standard Belt from Tanner Goods.

That’ll about do it for this tailored men’s style ensemble — do you have a better idea of how to wear Chelsea boots this season? The Wynford Chelsea Boots from Hudson Shoes are an excellent starting point for a sleek and tailored #OOTD — at least, that’s what I think. This look gets even sharper when you throw in winter-ready, dressy staples — take the Telegraph Trousers from Taylor Stitch, for instance. And similarly weather-ready shirting, like the Corridor NYC Check Flannel Shirt, also helps you get the job done in terms of seasonal dressing.  Lest we forget, a classic cardigan is going to act as a reliable stand-in for a classic blazer. That combo will be all the warmer with an American-made cashmere scarf and stylish Anonymousism socks, too. Of course, you can’t leave a stylish dress watch off your wrist, and that’s where the terrific About Vintage Chronograph is going to help you stay on time in style. What’s your take on this #OOTD? Will the Wynford Chelsea Boots from Hudson Shoes be finding their way onto your feet this season? Let me know in the comments!

#OOTD: What to Wear for A Casual Thanksgiving At Home (Or On the Road)

Here’s the thing, folks: Thanksgiving 2017 will soon be upon us, if you can believe it. And whether you’re hopping in the car for a crosstown drive or hopping a flight to see the family dressed in fall travel style, there’s a basic-yet-stylish #OOTD template you can take with you wherever you go. And mark my words, there ways to look laidback yet on-point, as we always talk about here at The Style Guide. Let’s say Thanksgiving is a more casual affair for your family than Christmas — that’s where today’s #OOTD is going to come in handy. Enjoy!

The Sweatshirt: Flint and Tinder 10-Year Pullover in Forest, $89 — This Flint and Tinder pullover is assuredly very casual, even for a stylish hooded sweatshirt. The Easy Travel Bag: Filson Tablet Briefcase in Navy, $275— Alright, this Filson Tablet Briefcase is moreso for those of us who are hitting the road. Use it as a small carry-on, or use it to haul handy everyday carry essentials — and maybe an extra bottle of craft beer — to and from dinner.

I can smell that turkey cooking now — can’t you? Starting any holiday oufit with the right pieces is going to put you in a great spot, and that’ll allow you to layer up in casual style with that Flint and Tinder pullover. Elsewhere, the Jack Shirt from Taylor Stitch is an everyday go-to, and perfectly acceptable to wear on Thanksgiving.  The same goes for the Taylor Stitch Democratic Chinos, featuring a tailored fit that’s not too tight — so, you know, you can grab that second (or third) helping. #OOTD: Wear Your Chambray Shirt with Rugged Menswear Essentials This Season

Take it from me, folks — your next #OOTD should feature a classic chambray shirt this season. It’s a four-season menswear staple that we’ve long loved here at The Style Guide (just check out this 2014 piece), and it’s the perfect shirt to break out for fall and winter. Of course, a stylish chambray shirt is more than serviceable in the spring and summer, especially when teamed with classic leather sneakers, but the texture of cotton chambray just feels right when teamed with tough, rugged fall style essentials.  Rest assured, we’ve covered how to wear a chambray shirt before, but this one is amped up forr the season. And seeing as we got a late start to the fall this time around, now is as good a time as any to break out the Taylor Stitch Everyday Chambray Shirt that you see below. It’s a shirt that’s so simply made that every guy looks great wearing it. And I think you’ll find it teams up more than stylishly with accessories like classic dark denim and a tough waxed canvas jacket. That’s not the only reason you’ll love wearing it for the fall and winter — the Everyday Chambray Shirt is a great deal that’ll up any outfit (yes, even a casual weekend ensemble). With all of that being said, I’ll let the rest of this #OOTD do the talking. Thanks for reading!

A finely crafted chambray shirt teamed with durable essentials for perfect layering.

The Chambray Shirt: Taylor Stitch Everyday Chambray Shirt, $118 — Is this Taylor Stitch chambray shirt the best of the best? Maybe? It’s certainly a highly wearable, great-looking shirt for the colder months ahead.

The Jacket: Taylor Stitch Long Haul Jacket in Field Tan Waxed Canvas — $188— There’s no better jacket to break out for stylish layering than the Taylor Stitch Long Haul Jacket — at least, that’s true when it comes to this particular combo.

The Pants: BANKS Roll Bedford Cord Jean in Dirty Denim, $75 — Textured jeans in a rich, deep color are a nice way to offset the striking blue of the Taylor Stitch chambray shirt seen here — BANKS does it right with this pair of classic denim.

The Boots: Sutro Footwear Alder Boots in Honey, $218 — Sutro Footwear builds its handsome boots with plenty of quality and just a bit of rugged edge — these rich leather captoe boots are a bit dressy and a bit casual, all at once.
The Belt: Sturdy Brothers Everyday Belt in Natural, $80 — When it comes to underappreciated style details, a dependable belt sits near the top of the list. Sturdy Brothers makes one that’s perfect for fall and winter, what with its rich leather.

The Socks: CHUP Vivienda Socks, $35 — You know that we’re fans of stylish socks here on the blog, right? The CHUP Vividena Socks are eye-catching and essential in terms of adding a bit of color to this #menswear ensemble.

The Watch: AVI-8 Flyboy Leather Watch, $269.95 — Need a stylish leather watch that adds a bit of understated style to this classic fall look? The AVI-8 Flyboy is the casual watch to buy now.

The Everyday Carry Essential: Makr Phone/Card Sleeve, $59.98 — Listen, we’ve all been there — right? If you’re like me, prone to dropping your phone, keeping your phone protected with a durable phone case is essential.

There are certainly plenty of ways to wear your new favorite chambray shirt, but this look is a personal favorite for your Style Guide author. Sharp, simple and filled with rugged fall layers, including the tough Taylor Stitch Long Haul Jacket as seen above. And that combo looks all the better when it stands out against classic Bedford Cord pants
and tan leather boots from Sutro Footwear. Of course, stylish men’s socks are needed to add a bit (or a lot) of visual interest, while the Sturdy Brothers Everyday Belt is a more-than-able accessory. On the watch front, the AVI-8 Flyboy plays off military inspiration in a way that’s subtle and stylish, potentially making it your favorite casual watch. Oh, and if you’re prone to dropping your phone *raises hand* the Makr Phone/Card Sleeve is the everyday carry essential you didn’t know you needed. All set to step out in perfectly casual-yet-sharp style? It’s really as easy as starting with the Taylor Stitch Everyday Chambray Shirt and going from there.
Let me know in the comments how it all works out — thanks for reading!

#OOTD: How to Style Your New Favorite Vest for Fall

My friends, don’t sleep on the humble vest. A style move that was at once very on-trend (looking at you, Back to the Future), and then too preppy … is now back in a way that’s just right for the modern man (that’s you!). Maybe you never stopped wearing a stylish vest like the Bridge & Burn Ritter Vest as pictured below. If so, today’s new #OOTD is going to be right up your alley. And if you hadn’t yet considered making a vest part of your fall men’s style essentials? I’d wager that the below suggestion is (hopefully) going to get your gears turning. We’re really easing into it, after all. The building blocks of this outfit are stellar, stylish pieces that any guy should be wearing for fall, from a slim chambray shirt to a rugged henley to classic men’s chinos. And the topper? A classic vest, of course. Go for a piece that’s less technical and less, well, puffy — something that fits slim and sharp is the way to go. Luckily, the Bridge & Burn Ritter Vest fits the bill quite well.  With casual weekend style in mind, you’re going to like these picks … I hope. So, let’s get to the #OOTD — any questions or comments? Head over to The Style Guide Facebook page.

Taking a slimmed-down vest and pairing it with classic men’s style staples.

The Vest: Bridge & Burn Ritter Vest, $198 — Upgrading your vest starts with the material and fit. The warm, slim-fitting Bridge & Burn Ritter Vest features wool-blend fabric and a neutral, wearable color.
The Chambray Shirt: CIVIC The Jack Shirt in Sky Blue Chambray, $128 — A classic chambray shirt is no more fitting than in fall, and CIVIC (an offshoot of Taylor Stitch) makes the Jack Shirt with premium merino fabric and a tailored fit.

The Henley: Flint and Tinder Heavyweight Henley, $62 — What’s more classic for fall than layering a tough henley with a chambray shirt and  your new favorite vest? Not much, folks. Perfectly casual style, comin’ right up.

The Chinos: CIVIC The Frank Chino, $145 — The key to making the vest stylish and modern? Slim chinos from CIVIC — made with sustainability and mobility in mind, of course.

The Boots: Wolverine Evans Boot, $400 —  Fall and winter are the perfect seasons for a tough pair of Wolverine boots — the Evans Boot adds some rugged edge to this classic, straightforward ensemble. Oh, and don’t forget stylish patterned socks from Anonymousism.

The Belt: Levi’s Stinson Belt, $29 — Yet again, Levi’s delivers on a stylish belt to complement the slim chinos in this ensemble. Of course, the Stinson Belt also works with whatever classic Levi’s denim you already own, too.

The Watch: Huckberry x Lum-Tec GMT, $498 — Worried about mixing a black NATO strap watch with a brown belt & boots? Fear not, my friend. The durable Huckberry x Lum-Tec GMT fits right in with the rest of this rugged, casual outfit.

The Beanie: Levi’s Ribbed Beanie, $18 — Hey, it’s chilly out there. A classic beanie in an eye-catching color from a classic brand — good lookin’ out, Levi’s — will keep you warm and stylish.

Have you had the chance to re-think what you thought you knew about the classic men’s vest? Certainly, the Bridge & Burn Ritter Vest features the type of upgraded fabric & fit that you need when you start shopping around for this necessary style upgrade. It also loses its preppy connotations when you streamline it with men’s fall style essentials, from a  classic chambray shirt to a rugged men’s henley from a beloved brand like Flint and Tinder. And the stylish vest gets even easier to wear in casual style situations when you rock it with slim tan chinos and your favorite pair of fall boots (the Wolverine Evans Boot, of course). Accessories from Levi’s — like a durable leather belt and a stylish beanie cap — are destined to become cold-weather favorites, too. Let’s not forget about a tough casual watch; in this instance, the Huckberry x Lum-Tec GMT mixes striking design with a rugged aesthetic. If that sounds like style you can appreciate, I’d make sure you pick up the Bridge & Burn Ritter Vest before it’s too late. From there, you can wear this ensemble on upstate trips, day hikes, a bar crawl, to the farmer’s market, to grab a weekend coffee … you get the gist, right?

How would you style the Bridge & Burn Ritter Vest? Let me know if you plan to snag it for the season!

Thanks for reading,

#OOTD: A New Way to Wear Your Field Jacket for Cold Weather

Are you still looking for ways to shake up your #OOTD through the fall season? Same here — and that’s why we’re continually working at The Style Guide to offer up a nice blend of rugged menswear and versatile style for all your fall excursions. From a fall hike to casual Sunday coffee run, there’s one jacket that’s going to provide technical function and sleek style — the ever-durable, stylish field jacket that we’re focused on today. As luck would have it, the Relwen Quilted Field Jacket is a Huckberry exclusive, and a heck of a jacket at that. Featuring a weather-ready quilted exterior and a few neat updates to the classic field jacket design, Relwen has done quite the job with this number. How to wear it? Well, we’ll get to that in a second. But I would suggest you take this look anywhere that calls for tough, weather-ready style. That being said, stylish leather boots and durable field pants are in the mix — you can be sure of that. Need to get style tips in real time? Hopefully, my Instagram account can help you there. In the meantime, stay stylish!

Huckberry

An adventure-ready field jacket meets mobile pants and durable leather boots.

The Field Jacket: Relwen Quilted Patrol Jacket in Olive (Exclusively at Huckberry), $298 — Made from a water-resistant nylon-cotton blend, the Relwen Quilted Patrol Jacket is modern, stylish and tough. Nicely done.

#OOTD: Here’s The New Bomber Jacket to Layer With this Season

If you’re seeking an #OOTD geared toward essential, casual layering — with just a hint of versatility and sharp style thrown in — today’s #menswear ensemble is the one to buy. The building blocks of the below #OOTD are pieces you should seriously consider adding to your wardrobe if you don’t have ’em already. Take, for example, a classic bomber jacket  — like the Iron and Resin Marauder Jacket as seen below. It’s a surprisingly versatile layer, what with its functionality and military heritage. Without a doubt, the right bomber jacket can team with a rugged crewneck sweatshirt and an American-made tee as readily as it can layer over a classic Oxford shirt and a knit tie. We’re taking things in a more casual direction today (just check out the stylish slip-on sneakers in this ensemble), but regardless, the Iron and Resin Marauder Jacket is a sharp layer to get you through the month of October and on into November. Plus, it’s on-trend without veering too far away from tried-and-true pieces. Just read on for more, and let me know how you’d style your new favorite bomber jacket over on Twitter.

A crisp bomber jacket in a versatile color, teamed with classic and easygoing basics. Wear it all for your next fall weekend adventure.

The Bomber Jacket: Iron and Resin Marauder Jacket, $199 –Here’s the stylish bomber jacket in question, done up in a stylish, neutral army green color. Light enough to layer for fall, easy to wear with a tee in the spring.

The Sweatshirt:  Levi’s Classic Crewneck Sweater, $50 — Thought Levi’s only made stylish denim? Think again — this cotton crewneck sweater features bold stripes in a fall-ready color combo that’s ideal for layering.

The Casual Tee: Flint and Tinder Slub Tee in Oxblood, $38 — Comfortable, well-fitting and done up in a rich Oxblood color, Flint and Tinder always gets it right when it comes to its line of classic T-shirts.

The Denim: Taylor Stitch Slim Jean in Cone Mills Standard, $98 Classic dark blue denim, particularly a crisp pair from Taylor Stitch, add a bit of sharp-yet-casual appeal to this outfit. Wear those jeans as much as you can — they’ll break in perfectly.
The Sneakers: SeaVees Cordies Varsity Hawthorne Slip-ons, $80 — Casual, classic sneakers from SeaVees help make this outfit weekend-ready, and the cool corduroy texture of the Hawthorne Slip-ons is certainly appropriate for fall. Oh, and don’t forget to add some stylish socks — perhaps from Anoymousism?

The Belt: Levi’s Woodland Belt, $29 (On Sale) — Rugged, durable accessories make all the difference — especially in fall. Levi’s comes through with the affordable, stylish Woodland Belt.

The Watch: Ventus Caspian C-01 Brass Watch, $299 — Fall’s colder temperatures and heavier textures call for accessories that stand out visually — the rugged Caspian C-01 Brass Watch from Ventus fits the bill nicely.
The Ballcap: Ebbets Field Flannels x Bespoke Post “B” Baseball Cap, $38 — This one comes at you from Bespoke Post — it’s a classically designed, hard-wearing vintage ballcap, plus a cool conversation starter.

A stylish bomber jacket is going to be a go-to layering piece this season — at least, I think a piece like the Iron and Resin Marauder Jacket makes total sense to add to your fall style wish list. When you layer up with a classic crewneck sweatshirt from  Levi’s and a slim, American-made tee, it becomes that much easier to get dressed for casual style situations aplenty. Classic dark blue denim is a four-season staple, and that’s also true when wearing a bomber jacket from fall into winter — take note, folks. And if you want to inject a little fall-friendly style into your footwear, the Hawthorne Slip-ons are a wise pick, what with a neat navy corduroy upper and an easy-to-wear silhouette. Finish off your outfit with nothing but the best when it comes to accessories, like the Woodland Belt and a vintage ballcap from Bespoke Post — don’t forget a durable watch, too.  With all of that being said, my best advice would be to wear a stylish bomber jacket exactly as you see fit; that’s the beauty of a timeless menswear staple like the Iron and Resin Marauder Jacket.

Any feedback on this #OOTD? How would you style the Iron and Resin Marauder Jacket  for fall and beyond?
