Style Pick of the Week: Billy Reid Bond Peacoat

The best peacoat on the market? There’s certainly nothing else like it.

Folks, there’s just no other way to look at it: The Billy Reid Bond Peacoat is an iconic jacket you need in your wardrobe this winter. Oh, and it’s worn by Mr. James Bond himself (as seen above). That’s it. That’s all there is to it. And if this classic peacoat wasn’t so well-made and uniquely stylish, that might be the end of this post. See Now, Buy Now: Keep Warm with a Pair of Stylish Leather Gloves from Hestra

#OOTD: What to Wear to Your Favorite Brewery This Winter

If ever you read other series from the blog, like our Friday Read, then you’re surely aware that your humble menswear editor loves a delicious craft beer — in addition to a hearty pour of men’s style essentials. Even better than that? Bringing it all together through the art of exploring a new city or borough, finding a brewery — or whiskey bar  — and sampling the local wares while dressed in style (a la today’s #OOTD!). To me, it’s a whole experience — and one should prepare accordingly, hence the theme of today’s (hopefully fun) look. If you’re not the sort to imbibe in beer, whiskey or wine, then the below ensemble can still work for, say an outdoor hike or art gallery visit. Really, this warm, stylish look works any time you want to rotate a few more off-the-wall pieces (like a Stetson hat!) in place of your favorite essentials.

Style Pick of the Week: Billy Reid Dempsey Jacket

A remarkable coat from a standout style purveyor in Billy Reid.

Do you ever pick a jacket out of a lineup and think to yourself … “Whoa. That jacket is AMAZING.” Such was the case for yours truly with the Billy Reid Dempsey Jacket, a truly stunning early winter coat that just might be one of the best men’s winter jackets — believe you me. It’s made with the kind of care and attention to detail that can only come from a designer who’s honed his chops getting all the small details right, from making the perfect American-made Oxford to developing a rugged pair of beautiful selvedge denim. Of course, the Bond Peacoat is a prime example of this approach, as is the new Billy Reid Dempsey Jacket, the kind of jacket you’re going to want to wear every single day of the week. True to form, it blends a rugged, old-school appeal with an edgy sort of style that wouldn’t look out of place at a cool speakeasy or a rock concert — seriously a piece like the Billy Reid Dempsey Jacket can very nearly do it all. Heck, the outer shell is water and wind-resistant, so it can take on highland hikes as readily as it can take on a gourmet dinner-and-drinks date.

#OOTD: How To Dress for Thanksgiving This Year

Let’s get down to business — what’s your favorite holiday? Is it Thanksgiving? And if so, do you have any idea what to wear for Thanksgiving this year? This #OOTD answers at least one of those questions for you … you can figure out the rest. It’s a tricky holiday, in that it still calls for your best men’s style essentials, yet tailored to the situation. Perhaps you might need to add a stylish blazer to the below ensemble, or even *gasp* a tie.
