We’re back in action here on The Style Guide, and spotlighting a stellar deal on one of the best watches for men, to boot. A rugged dive watch can be both a “beater watch” and an investment piece, and in the case of the Huckberry x Zodiac Titanium Dive Watch, it’s a bit of both.
Of course, it’s a Huckberry exclusive, and the great news is, you can get your new favorite dive watch for 15 percent off at checkout, no other bells and whistles required today.
The Huckberry x Zodiac Titanium Dive Watch carries on the Zodiac legacy of tough-as-nails dive watches, and this one is made from marine-grade titanium, with 200 meters of water resistance. Marine-grade titanium, in fact, is two times as light as stainless steel, and the 26-jewel Swiss-made STP 1-21 caliber automatic movement also boasts a rather impressive 44-hour power reserve.
In short, the Huckberry x Zodiac Titanium Dive Watch is hard-wearing and rugged as heck, with a striking blue dial and plenty of toughness built right in. And yes, again, it’s 15 percent off at checkout, and it belongs on your wrist ASAP.
When it comes time to welcome a new season, sometimes, it’s about getting back to work — literally and figuratively, be it spring cleaning, an early season road trip or a day in the yard (or at the bar). And as one might expect, there are plenty of menswear essentials from Huckberry to help you in all of those pursuits. In my experience, the retailer gets better with each passing season, and that certainly goes for the rugged Americana menswear of Flint and Tinder.
Naturally, you know the brand for its hard-wearing waxed jackets, comfortable stretch denim and classic everyday chinos, but the Flint and Tinder Chambray Utility Shirt takes things a step further.
As Huckberry rightly notes, chambray fabric — with its woven, interlocking white-and-blue fibers and tough, durable construction — has been a part of classic workwear pieces dating back a century (at least). The San Francisco and Austin-based retailer also notes that, well, “You can’t talk about workwear without talking about chambray shirts.”
They’re right on the money with that take, and the Flint and Tinder Chambray Utility Shirt, with 100 percent cotton construction in a breathable yet durable 5.5oz. weight, works well on its own or layered up with your favorite T-shirt on a breezy spring day.
Two button-front chest pockets (including one with a pen or tool slot) add an air of hard-working utility to the aptly named Flint and Tinder Chambray Utility Shirt, which also comes in a cool-as-can-be Natural Seeded Chambray color. Either way, it’s a hard-working option fit for whatever spring throws at you this season.
When looking for the best menswear essentials to round out my style rotation on the daily, I tend to look for relatable, reliable pieces (yes, relatable and reliable!) from sources I can trust — this you know well if you’ve read the blog on the regular, and Huckberry certainly qualifies.
The rugged-meets-refined retailer has certainly set a high bar to clear, which is what makes the San Fran and Austin-based brand so impressive in its latest meeting of the minds. My friends, get ready to meet Trumbull Detroit, a new collaboration between Huckberry and lauded menswear designer and expert Aaron Levine.
If that name sounds familiar, there’s plenty of good reason behind that: Levine was the menswear mind behind Club Monaco, masters of accessible tailoring and sportswear, as well as the resurgence of Abercrombie and Fitch across the past decade.
And now, he’s back at it again, teaming up with Huckberry on Trumbull Detroit, a line of stylish, vintage-inspired sportswear that arrives just in time for early spring. The line focuses on classic Americana styles, including one of the best hoodies for men, a classic crewneck sweatshirt in a vintage wash, a super-soft vintage wash T-shirt and even a casually cool quarter-zip sweater.
The Trumbull Detroit line might seem simple enough on the surface, but it’s packed with some of the best casual style picks for men this spring, particularly for weekend lounging, morning coffee runs, cozy weekends away and, well, the list goes on and on.
Garment-dyed 100 percent USA-grown cotton runs throughout the line, but what’s even more impressive is the fact that Huckberry x Trumbull Detroit is made the old-school way — in the U.S.A., and as the name would imply, in Detroit itself.
They don’t quite make menswear like this anymore, with a pleasing range of casual, effortlessly cool silhouettes, high-quality fabrication and of course, USA-made construction. That naturally means these pieces are pricier than average ($148 for a Trumbull Detroit hoodie, for instance), but between the soft fleece, durable fabric and made-in-America construction, it’s an investment that should certainly pay off.
When you want the best of the best, with an eye for detail, classic design and that key mix of reliability and relatability, turn now towards Trumbull Detroit and your friends at Huckberry — they won’t let you down.
When the weather takes a turn for the better, well, that’s when it’s time to dust off some of those trusty spring style essentials — like a pair of the best light wash jeans from my friends at Mott and Bow. Light wash jeans are an ideal style move for, well, the lighter, sunnier, warmer days of spring and summer, with an easygoing air that adds particular appeal alongside staple pieces like one of the best crewneck sweaters or, better still, a casually cool T-shirt or short-sleeve henley.
And there’s no time like the present to get some of the best men’s light wash jeans on sale. Speaking of sales: Yes, that’d be the Mott and Bow Winter Sale, a close-out opportunity to save 30 percent on styles like the Mott and Bow Laight Jeans.
They boast a mid-weight cotton denim fabric (with 2 percent elastane for stretch), which is then elevated with a 16 percent stretch factor (take heed — 2 percent stretch fabric but a 16 percent stretch factor). But the most important factor when it comes to the Mott and Bow Winter Sale? Those crucial savings of 30 percent off. Here just in time for a new season, find your new favorite jeans ASAP, my friends.
Just when you thought a pair of dress shoes — or rather, a company making some of the most comfortable dress shoes on the market — couldn’t possibly get any more comfortable, well, meet the latest and greatest from Amberjack.
The young upstart brand, which incorporates incredible comfort technology into pairs of the best lace-up boots and the best loafers on the market, just dropped the Amberjack Slip-Ons, a new and improved take on its low-profile loafers that hits the market in just time for early spring.
Perhaps this is the first Amberjack review you’re diving into, but I’ve had the pleasure of trying out the brand these past couple years — believe me when I say, you’ve never quite tried out a brand like this. And when it comes to the Amberjack Slip-Ons, the difference is both built right into these shoes, as well as instantly noticeable on the outside.
The use of A-grade, full-grain leather in rich colors like Honey, as seen above, is a major positive, but the dual-function athletic outsole works seamlessly with the heat-activated insole for an incredibly smooth, comfortable, springy ride underfoot.
The arch support is also activated by heat, giving you an extra jolt in terms of rebound, and the Amberjack Slip-Ons also feature helpful details like a back heel pull tab for an easy-on, easy-off experience. I think you’ll also find the profile of your new favorite slip-ons is sleek and dressy enough to work at the office, especially with tailored chinos.
That being said, your new favorite loafers can also work particularly well with light wash jeans — for some high-low spring style — or with classic dark blue jeans. And all the while you’ll find a standout blend of comfort and great looks from your new Amberjack Slip-Ons. Get right to it, my friends.
When opportunity knocks to add to your rotation of menswear essentials while saving some cash, you know what we say here at The Style Guide: Heed the call, answer the door and add, well, whatever you might need to your rotation.
With my good friends at Bonobos, for instance, that could be one of the best merino sweaters for daily wear, or it could be a pair of the best pants for men, something for which Bonobos is quite well-known (it almost goes without saying). Things get even better today though, as the famed menswear brand is offering an extra 30 percent off sale styles with the code EXTRADAY.
And while that doesn’t quite include some of the best new spring menswear from the just-released Bonobos Spring 2024 Collection, it does include a slew of essential daily and seasonal offerings. Among those offerings via the Bonobos Sale section, you’ll find textured Italian cotton pants, some of the best chinos for men and even sale styles from $10.
Sounds too good to be true, right? From faded jeans to office and date-ready night shirts and beyond, this Bonobos “sale-on-sale” is indeed too good to pass up (but it’s certainly not too good to be true). Shop accordingly today, my friends.
As we move slowly but surely into spring, it’s high time to take stock of your rotation of the best spring jackets, is it not? Spring conditions, with the potential for everything from blustery weather, rain and wind to sunshine, call for some of the hardest-wearing, hardest-working gear on the market — gear from Filson, to be more specific.
The Pacific Northwest heritage brand is a personal favorite for its emphasis on heirloom-worthy quality, tough performance and style points in equal measure, something they’ve emphasized for over a century now. And given the company’s Seattle roots, it only makes sense that a rugged outerwear pick like the Filson Eagle Harbor Jac Shirt would get the job done in fine form this season.
The Filson Eagle Harbor Jac Shirt is about as tough and hard-wearing as it gets, with an easy-on, easy-off snap button front placket, two sturdy button chest pockets for your everyday carry and of course, the outfitter’s legendary, weather-ready fabric. When it comes to the Filson Eagle Harbor Jac Shirt, that fabric happens to be a water-resistant waxed cotton that’ll get even better with age.
As the iconic company says, they modeled your new favorite shirt jacket “after our original wool Jac-Shirt that’s been an outdoors staple since the mid-1970s,” and that’s a heritage-minded point worth keeping in mind. The waxed cotton of the Filson Eagle Harbor Jac Shirt should easily stand up to wind and rain, proving useful to layer over everything from a thermal Filson henley to a classic T-shirt to, say, a lightweight Filson flannel shirt.
It’s rugged enough to wear with dark blue jeans, cool enough to wear with olive chinos and overall, the Filson Eagle Harbor Jac Shirt is up to just about any challenge this early spring — style-related, weather-wise or anywhere else.
It’s hard to believe it’s already March 1st, is it not? The year is flying by in leaps and bounds, from my Brooklyn birthday weekend to NYFW to some exciting March travel plans on the horizon (more on those to follow in the weeks ahead on my Instagram!).
There’s plenty in store, and naturally, I plan to take it on in style, specifically with a few choice pieces from Huckberry and the new Flint and Tinder Workwear Collection. If you read the blog on the regular, you’re no stranger to the famed in-house brand at Huckberry, which looks to the past — silhouettes like trucker jackets, chambray shirts and classic blue jeans — to update rugged gear for the modern man.
The Flint and Tinder Workwear Collection is just one of the fine finds I’ve had my eye on this week as I cover the worlds of menswear, spirits and more. Here are a few other tips to animate your weekend in fine fashion, my friends.
If you read the blog or follow me on Instagram, you’ll know I’m also deeply interested in the world of fine Scotch (and bourbon, of course), but Scotch is my pick today. Over at Maxim, I wrote about a curious experiment in the world of Scotch: The Glenlivet deconstructed, and then put back together, bourbon and rum casks to finish its legendary Scotch, and the results were exceedingly delicious. Head to Maxim for the full rundown.
What’s in your sneaker rotation lately? As we inch ever closer toward spring, it might be time to think about dusting off some fresh kicks. And basketball fans have a new option (also covered by yours truly at Maxim!) — that’d be the reintroduced, revamped Converse Weapon, a high-top style (with a new low-top edition) famously worn by Larry Bird. Check out the rundown over at Maxim.
Here’s one more tip for your reading and shopping pleasure this weekend. As you know, I can’t get enough of a great deal on some of the best menswear, especially designer menswear from Billy Reid. That’s precisely why you should dive into this post covering the Billy Reid End of Season Sale, which offers a slew of deals on plenty of refined essentials and daily must-haves. Those savings are yours for the taking, my friends.
That’s going to wrap up today’s post covering the best menswear to read about and shop this weekend, my friends. Any questions or comments? Feel free to swing back through tomorrow for our Style Pick of the Week, where we’ll keep things rolling all weekend long with style in mind. Cheers, folks!
In my daily pursuits, be it writing in Brooklyn, trekking around the city in search of the best craft beer or layering up in a waxed trucker jacket (or some form of all of the above), I value the small details, the little things that improve an #OOTD or even a daily convenience.
I find that everyday carry essentials go a long way in that regard, with the potential to add some character and style to any look. And certainly, that’s what I appreciate about the good folks at Satchel & Page, makers of some of the best heirloom-quality leather pieces on the market.
That extends to everyday carry leather goods as well as one of the best leather weekender bags, but let’s dig a little deeper: The brand is making one of the best leather wallets to upgrade your everyday carry, and they’re doing so in a way that’s built to last.
The brand’s leather goods are carefully crafted with superb attention to detail, and that turns the Satchel & Page Leather Card Wallet into a next-level EDC piece that’s bound to get better with age. Vegetable-tanned Italian leather adds a rich look and feel to this wallet, which should develop a handsome patina — owing to the fact that it’s finished naturally, of course.
It can fit as many as eight cards, so there’s a nice blend of form and function here, and there’s also space within the Satchel & Page Leather Card Wallet for folded bills. All the while, this wallet will get better and develop that signature patina with every use, whether placed in a field jacket pocket or carried in the front pocket of trusty blue selvedge jeans.
When you want an everyday carry upgrade that goes the distance, opt for this handsome leather card wallet from a tried-and-true heritage brand.
As I scour the market for the best menswear essentials, I tend to turn regularly to reliable designers and brands I can trust (like Todd Snyder), and then I look for the unexpected. Pieces that are classic and versatile, with a rugged appeal — like one of the best men’s denim shirts, for instance — and pieces that are also done in ways that are slightly different than the rest.
Take the Todd Snyder Denim Western Shirt, for instance. Like, say, the Todd Snyder Lambswool Sweater, it’s the famed designer’s own take on a certified classic, done in ways only the award-winning designer can do.
In the case of this handsome denim shirt, it starts with premium 100 percent cotton denim from Albini, makers of fine fabric overseas since the 1870s. It’s also available in a handsome Medium Blue, but the deep, inky blue indigo of this style is my personal favorite.
From there, the Todd Snyder Denim Western Shirt (which is made in Portugal) uses a classic Western shirt cut, complete with iconic details like contrast golden stitching, a front yoke stitching design and pearl snap buttons.
Yet, it’s the use of that soft yet durable Italian denim fabric that gives it a more refined look and feel, although that denim should surely get better with age, whether layered up over your favorite henley or worn on its own underneath a classic shawl cardigan.
And since it’s Todd Snyder, I can say you should rest easy knowing that the Todd Snyder Denim Western Shirt is made to last and worth the extra cash above other more typical denim shirts. It’s more casual than Todd Snyder Oxford shirts or dress shirts, but your wardrobe needs rugged-meets-refined options, and the Todd Snyder Denim Western Shirt certainly fits the bill nicely this season.
