#OOTD: This Is How to Wear a Chambray Shirt Right Now

There are times when a guy’s gotta do what a guy’s gotta do — be it picking up to-go beers or freshly ground coffee from your local shop, loading up the car for a day trip upstate or hanging out and grilling this summer … for all those times, you need the best men’s style essentials. Gear that’s not going to let you down, gear that’s going to look great … no matter what. Enter today’s #OOTD covering the best chambray shirt — and how to wear it. We’ll dive into what exactly makes one of the best chambray shirts for men (Hint: It’s gotta be from Buck Mason), plus the best accessories to go alongside it. Now, I know what you’re (maybe) thinking. “A chambray shirt?? In the middle of August? The horror!” … OK, I’m kidding. But if ever you were skeptical about trying out a chambray shirt, rest assured that the Buck Mason chambray shirt in question today is lightweight, easy to layer and plenty stylish all the way through (it helps that we’ll layer it over one of your favorite T-shirts for breezy seasonal style). And if you’re the type of guy who simply can’t put away his selvedge denim, I’ve got just the solution for you: A pair of lightweight stretch selvedge jeans from none other than Todd Snyder. Of course, it’ll get all the better thanks to the best chukka boots, too. But, I don’t want to spoil the look for you. Keep scrolling to check out the full #OOTD, then chime in on Twitter if you plan to pick up any of these rugged summer gear picks. Onward, folks!

A cool chambray shirt worn an even cooler way. Get into it. folks.

Hopefully, you’ve got a few more ideas on how to wear a chambray shirt this summer. The key here involves layering it up the right way, and accessorizing it with the best men’s gear for warm weather. Luckily, Buck Mason makes it easy to do that successfully — this is quite simply one of the best men’s chambray shirts I’ve seen, and I think you’ll feel the same way. You’ve got on-point summer style aplenty here thanks to the best white T-shirt for guys, to go along with stylish stretch selvedge jeans from one of your favorite menswear designers (or at least, one of my favorites!). The look gets all the better thanks to rugged chukka boots from Red Wing Heritage — which also happen to be surprisingly lightweight — and then it’s all finished off in fine form with a vintage-inspired watch from the good folks at Timex. How can it get better? That’s easy, folks. A stylish brown leather belt from Billykirk keeps your black selvedge jeans in place and looks great doing it, while a pair of the most affordable sunglasses for men belongs on your face for the rest of summer. Last but not least, one of the coolest growlers for beer helps you transport your favorite beer and keep it cold for hours of summer enjoyment. It’s all about casual, rugged style, and I don’t think it can get any better than, well, right now. But again, it all starts with one of the best men’s chambray shirts — choose wisely, shop accordingly, then get out there this summer.

#OOTD: How to Wear Jeans When It’s Hot Out — Right Now

If you’ve been wondering how to wear jeans when it’s hot out — as in, how to wear jeans for summer, right this very instant — look no further. Today’s #OOTD has all the best men’s gear you need, and we’ll get you through this ensemble without a bead of sweat. No promises, but this look is geared toward lightweight casual style, to say the least. It all starts with finding a pair of the best men’s jeans — preferably in a light wash and with fabric that’s got some stretch. Enter the Flint and Tinder Stretch Selvage Jeans, a favorite of the blog (and possibly soon to be your new favorite denim?). These aren’t your typical pair of jeans — they’re lightweight and comfortable, no matter what. From there, it’s all about keeping things breezy and cool, so we’ll introduce you to one of the coolest short-sleeve shirts for summer, and then offset things even further with a classic white T-shirt and casual canvas sneakers. You see, there’s a right way and a wrong way to about wearing jeans for summer, and while I love a great pair of selvedge denim as much as the next guy, you’ve simply got to switch it up from time to time. Now that you’ve got your favorite pair of jeans on lock (or you will soon enough, anyways), where to rock this ensemble? Things are slowly but surely opening up, so perhaps it’s worth rocking the best men’s jeans for summer as you visit your favorite brewery’s spread-out patio, but if you’re more comfortable hanging at home instead, that’s totally cool. In fact, consider this #OOTD ready for bonfires and grilling sessions aplenty. The rest of this summer-friendly look can be found below — as ever, let me know what you think of these men’s gear picks on Twitter.

The right way to wear jeans this summer? Possibly this way.

Alright, my friends — we’ve come to the end of another #OOTD (well, nearly the end). How ready are you feeling to rock a pair of the best light wash jeans to close out summer? Fairly ready? Mostly ready? Start out with the right pair (*cough* the Flint and Tinder Stretch Selvage Jeans) and then build your look from there. Remember, breezy and casual is the key, so we’re enlisting the help of a rugged workshirt from Buck Mason, then building the look from there. To wit: A classic white T-shirt from Flint and Tinder offers retro-inspired summer style, while classic summer sneakers a la the Vans Anaheim Factory Authentic Sneakers channel perfectly laidback looks for hanging out in the summer heat (cold beer in hand, of course). Of course, the Q Timex Reissue Watch allows you to stay on time in affordable style while looking great, so be sure to snap up your new favorite watch while you’ve still got the chance. To really keep things going, accessorize with yet another Flint and Tinder piece, this time in the form of the best leather belt for men.  Naturally, the heat of the summer is going to call for a pair of stylish shades like the Raen Optics Dodson Sunglasses, so snag those under-$200 sunglasses while you can. And as if Huckberry didn’t already make some of the best gear for men, they’ve now delved into making one of the best men’s ballcaps — make sure this is on your head to close out summer. Once again, this #OOTD is just about as good as it gets — make sure to try out as many of these picks as you can, I’d say. Lastly: Thanks for reading!

#OOTD: How to Dress for Your Next Summer Adventure

Well, here we are with another #OOTD covering how to dress in style for summer. From knowing how to wear white leather sneakers to how to wear chukka boots in the summer heat, stylish guys like yourself need to know how to deal with many a summer style situation. Let’s go off-trail — or at least, further away from home — for a second. If you love the great outdoors or a casual hike, or even an upstate cabin retreat, it pays off to know how to dress in rugged style, does it not? We’re here today with plenty of summer style essentials via a more unique ensemble to help you gear up for the season accordingly, even if that only entails sitting outside around the fire, and we’ll start with one of the best shirt jackets for men. Remember, style counts in plenty of different situations, even if it might seem not seem like it. That goes for spending time outdoors this summer — the day of athletic shorts and an athletic logo tee should be in your rearview mirror, hence the stylish overshirt you’ll see below from Freemans Sporting Club (among other choices). So, we’ll talk about one of the best shirt jackets out there right now — it’s a lightweight overshirt that goes the distance — plus some of the best men’s pants for summer, a pair uniquely suited to the rigors of the great outdoors and back home, and we’ll be lacing up a pair of the best men’s hiking boots, too. Are you ready to get out there, my friends? If you like this look, be sure to let me know on Twitter.

Stylish, rugged outdoor gear for a summer adventure – -easy as that.

Looking at the #OOTD above, are you feeling more ready for your next outdoor adventure? Whatever the case may be, prepping accordingly and dressing in rugged style can only help further the experience, my friends. That’s why the best men’s gear is so crucial — take the rugged camp shirt from Freemans Sporting Club as shown above. It’s going to be the ideal layer to wear atop your new favorite T-shirt on a long day hike or for a chilly summer evening (or both!). Of course, rugged outdoor boots are going to be a summer style essential, too — make sure you’re lacing up the right pair (*ahem* the Danner Pub Garden Boots are the correct answer). Proper accessories make all the difference when it comes to gearing up for the great outdoors, so throw on one of the best men’s watches and see how far that investment takes you — luckily, the Zodiac Super Sea Wolf more than passes muster. Even the little details make the difference, so a pair of the best men’s socks, particularly a pair from Darn Tough, is going to serve your feet very well indeed. You’ll also be stepping out properly thanks to one of the best outdoor bags, the type of daily carry that haul all your everyday essentials (and then some). And for when you and your pals get thirsty? Rest easy knowing you’ve brought along one of the best coolers from OtterBox. But lest we forget: It all starts with your new favorite overshirt and builds from there. As always, get in touch with me on Twitter to let me know your thoughts on this look.

#OOTD: How to Wear Your New Favorite Summer Boots (Seriously)

Our ongoing #OOTD series rolls on, and in perfect summer style, too. “But wait a second … boots? In the summer? How does that work?” Ahh, well, my friends … it works something like the below ensemble. A man of taste has a lot of ground to cover these days, from knowing how to wear a short-sleeve shirt to how to rock chukka boots this season. That being said, it’s fun to switch things up from straightforward summer classics every now and again as these months wear on. Today’s pick — stylish Chelsea boots from Astorflex — checks all the right boxes.  Today’s #OOTD just gets it right (in my humble opinion) on a number of fronts. Again, lightweight boots are the perfect way to build a look from the ground up, accented by an equally lightweight summer shirt and easygoing chinos. I won’t spoil the whole look, though — you’ll need to keep reading for the rest. But in this day and age, where is the below look taking you? For starters, it’s going to work quite alright to hang out around the house, the bonfire or the back patio (that’s what the stylish home speaker seen below is for). Aside from that, things are quite a bit different beyond your front door. I’d say this is the kind of go-to summer style you can wear to work from home, and you can assuredly take this look for a spin as you pick up to-go cocktails or coffee — hey, it’s the new normal, right? Sharp style is an everyday thing, and shaking things up from your reliable summer style essentials even slightly can prove useful and enjoyable. As ever, you’ve got to start things out from, quite literally, the ground up. So, let’s check out how to wear your boots this summer — enjoy, folks.

Chelsea boots to ground this outfit, teamed up with plenty other style essentials.

OK, folks. Who’s onboard with wearing your new favorite boots for summer as often as possible for the rest of the season? When you take a look at the men’s style essentials they’re teamed up with, it becomes all the more feasible to consider. Take an organic cotton shirt from Flint and Tinder to keep things casual and breezy, then keep that pace moving right along with organic cotton chinos in an easygoing fit and fabric (plus, a cool-as-heck Navy color). Your new favorite chinos are nothing without some classic men’s socks to accessorize alongside those lightweight Chelsea boots, so make sure you pick up a pair of those, too. Elsewhere, you’re putting plenty of style points up on the virtual scoreboard with an iconic Todd Snyder x Timex watch — it’s seriously one of the coolest watches for guys that your author has seen in some time. Because this look is suited for work or play, and for drawing up ideas at home or heading into the office via social distancing, a Bellroy work folio is going to help you keep your everyday carry essentials in check. And particularly if you’re at home (and especially if you happen to be entertaining), the best audio equipment can enliven any space — that’s where Tivoli Audio gets it done. Certainly, some stylish summer sunglasses tie this whole look together in a way that says you’re cool and stylish, but know how to buckle down when the time comes. After  all, isn’t that what every #OOTD should do?

#OOTD: Here’s How to Wear A Polo This Summer

The days of the old polo shirt you used to wear are over — at least, I think they should be. That’s where we’re going with today’s look, led by perhaps the best new polo on the market. Said polo shirt is a performance polo that also incorporates serious style points via Western Rise — as you’ll see below — but let’s get into the “Why” and “How”‘ first, shall we? Now, to be clear: Our #OOTD series has covered quite a bit of ground already this summer, from how to style your short-sleeve shirt to how to wear a rugged henley. On that note, consider this latest entry a bit of a step up in dressy, refined style for the summer, to say the least. The right polo shirt can go sharp or casual, and we’ll mix in just a bit of both today. Let’s say you’re very, very slowly but surely heading back to the office, or more likely … just looking to mix up your at-home style a bit. If you’ve grown tired of sneakers and even slim light wash jeans, then today’s look is going to suit you quite nicely. We’ll pair your Western Rise polo with stylish five-pocket pants, and we’ll go a step further with a pair of the best leather loafers. As to the rest of the ensemble, I think you’ll find it’s crisp, razor-sharp and ready to shake up your summer. Long story short: If you’ve been wondering how to wear a polo this summer, allow me to point you in the right direction. And if you like this look, feel free to let me know on Twitter.

A classy, sharp, refined way to wear a polo this summer.

Alright, that wasn’t too bad … was it? When you shake things up right from the get-go with a merino polo from Western Rise, you’re naturally stepping up your game from other polo shirts. It’s going to keep you cool and refreshed on a hot summer’s day, as are the rest of your key ensemble picks. Take those Crockett and Jones loafers, for instance. They just so happen to be stylish and refined loafers that work on a sweltering day by keeping you cool (margarita not included). When you team them up with some Buck Mason pants in a durable-yet-lightweight canvas, the look gets all the better. And your new favorite watch — from Timex, naturally — helps keep you on schedule in seriously cool retro style. As ever, the details make the difference here. Because you’re wearing stylish brown leather loafers, you need one of the best leather belts for men to properly accessorize the whole ensemble, and Billykirk gets it more than right. To stay organized at home or at work, something like a stylish leather tech folio from Bellroy is going to get the job done (pun intended). I’m also a fan of the Raen Optics Wiley Sunglasses — they’re a bit dressy and a bit casual, and all classic. Last but certainly not least, a pair of the best wireless headphones delivers a rich, truly excellent listening experience, whether plugged into your home system or your laptop. I think we covered all the bases, did we not? Feel free to let me know your thoughts on Twitter or follow me on Instagram for more style content. Thanks for reading!

#OOTD: Shake Up Your Summer Style with the Best Men’s T-shirt

Right off the bat: You know it’s summer, and you know you need to be wearing a stylish T-shirt. You’ve probably got a ton of T-shirts in your drawer, right? But do you have the best men’s T-shirt (or at least, arguably the best)? That’s where we’ll begin today’s #OOTD — with a Todd Snyder x Champion T-shirt that’s actually anything but basic. Consider it a rugged T-shirt for summer that you can wear on its own (in the case of today’s look) or layered up underneath, say, a denim shirt or your favorite trucker jacket. But the key with making the seemingly humble T-shirt work for you — be it for back-patio beers or a trail hike — is to pick the right one (again, Todd Snyder x Champion has you covered), and then add the right summer style essentials around it. That means we’ll go with a pair of the best men’s shorts for lightweight functionality and dependability, then we’ll accent ’em with a pair of eco-friendly sneakers for feel-good fashion and functionality. What looks seemingly simple on the surface can actually be stylish as all-get-out, but you’ve just got to know where to start. It’s breezy, it’s cool, it works for a hot summer day or an unexpectedly chilly night — it’s a must-have. For the summer months, the best T-shirt for men can certainly put in a lot of work for you. Here’s how to wear it (oh, and if you like this look, let me know on Twitter).

A simple T-shirt, worn in a stylish and effective way.

  • The Tee: Todd Snyder x Champion Basic Jersey Tee, $50 — Leave it to Todd Snyder x Champion to churn out one of the most consistent, best men’s T-shirts for summer wear. A rugged T-shirt is something every guy needs (yourself included).
  • The Shorts: Relwen Flyweight Flex Shorts, $158 — For the ultimate in casual summer style, you need some of the best men’s shorts. That’s just non-negotiable — and the Relwen Flyweight Flex Shorts are the right way to go.
  • The Stylish Sneakers: SeaVees Legend Sneakers Seachange, $80 — To kick back this weekend (and every summer weekend), get these perfectly casual, stylish sneakers. It helps that this is one pair of eco-friendly sneakers you can feel good about rocking.
  • The Rugged Watch: Buck Mason Mulholland Explorer Wristwatch, $895 — You’ve read about this classic watch before on the blog, and it’s back today in a big way. A stylish everyday watch, especially a NATO strap watch, is just what this look needs.
  • The Everyday Carry: Billykirk No. 231 Journal Holder, $115 — For jotting down notes and ideas at home or out on the trail, get this stylish leather journal holder from my pals at Billykirk, will ya?
  • The Hat: Huckberry Canvas Snapback, $30 — Now, a canvas snapback might not be the type of stylish ballcap everyone prefers, but when you want a cool yet rugged hat to keep the sun off your face, you could do worse than Huckberry.
  • The Audio Essential: Sennheiser PXC550 II Headphones, $350 — Whether you’re connected to your home sound system or out on the go, the best over-ear headphones, especially a pair from Sennheiser, are the right way to go.
  • The Summer Beverage: GrowlerWerks uKeg Go, $99 — The proper summer beverage? Your favorite beer, preferably from a local brewery, served up cold via the GrowlerWerks uKeg Go — it’s one of the best growlers around, folks.

As you can hopefully see from the ensemble above, finding and wearing the right T-shirt for summer doesn’t have to be boring or standard. In fact, with just a few tweaks and some additions via the best men’s gear, the Todd Snyder x Champion T-shirt shown above stands out from the pack even more. It’s a bit of an investment, but ultimately, it’s an affordably priced tee given the long-lasting quality you’re getting — and it looks particularly great for casual weekend style with the Relwen Flyweight Flex Shorts, which are well-suited for both back-deck weekend hangs and socially distanced hikes. Add some eco-friendly sneakers into the mix via SeaVees, and you’ve got the makings of a very stylish #OOTD for summer. There’s more to this look though, starting with the rugged dependability of a stylish everyday watch from Buck Mason — it’s understated yet stylish, perfectly well-suited to teaming up with the functional Huckberry Canvas Snapback shown above. See, you’re looking great AND keeping the sun off your face. Naturally, you’ll also be staying hydrated with one of the best growlers via the good folks at GrowlerWerks. How can it get better than that? In my mind, well, with the sun at your back and some excellent tunes playing through your Sennheiser headphones, it can’t be topped. Stay stylish and stay safe out there, friends.

#OOTD: Here’s How to Wear The Best Men’s Chinos for Summer

If you thought you knew everything about how to wear chinos for summer, I’m here to tell you to think again. Namely, the best men’s chinos are, first and foremost, going to shake up exactly how you pull together the rest of the look — one great piece can’t help but elevate the rest of your game. Of course, when you kick off your #OOTD with Todd Snyder slim-fit chinos, things get a whole lot cooler (and better) from there. We’ve talked plenty on the blog about how to wear chinos, but now that we’re essentially entering July (gasp!), maybe you want to switch things up a bit. Today, I’ll give you a few pointers on how to do just that. While you could easily wear, say, one of the best Oxford shirts and a navy cotton blazer with this look, we’ll be taking it a more casual, rugged direction. For instance: A stylish lightweight short-sleeve shirt does the heavy lifting here, and a more traditional summer jacket is swapped out with a durable chore jacket for unique summer style. Naturally, we’ll dive into some stylish everyday carry essentials and other gear picks that are crucial to giving this look its seriously cool, modern appeal. But lest we forget: You’ve got to get the best chinos for men to make it all work, so let’s start there. Enjoy the full ensemble below, folks.

Classic chinos worn in fresh, modern way.

  • The Chinos: Todd Snyder Slim-Fit Tab Front Stretch Chinos, $118 — Trust me — any summer #OOTD should start with the best men’s chinos, and these Todd Snyder chinos fit that definition perfectly. Dressy-yet-laidback, highly versatile … some of the best pants for men this season, easily.
  • The Stylish Short-Sleeve Shirt: Buck Mason Draped Twill Shirt, $85 — Just as reliably as Buck Mason makes one of the best denim shirts, so to do they come through with one of the best short-sleeve shirts for summer.
  • The Summer Jacket: Freemans Sporting Club Chore Jacket, $330 — To shake things up a bit, reach for a rugged chore jacket, one made from lightweight Japanese denim, to layer up on breezy summer days and nights.
  • The Perfect Summer Shoes: Nisolo Chamberlain Penny Loafers, $124 — This #OOTD mixes high and low, like a rugged chore jacket alongside slim chinos, so best keep mixing it up with these stylish leather loafers.
  • The Watch: VAER Watches C5 Heritage Leather Watch, $250 — You know what this ensemble needs? A stylish leather watch, one that’s going to add some rugged polish to this look (which itself is suited for date night at home or to-go cocktails).
  • The Belt: Billykirk No. 117 Mechanic’s Belt, $99 — We’re all about the accessories here on the blog, and the best leather belt is a must-have — especially when it’s made by Billykirk. Go ahead and mix your leather shades here — I won’t tell a soul.
  • The Sunglasses: Roav Lennox Foldable Sunglasses, $175 — Yes, that’s right — you can fold these stylish sunglasses up and take ’em with you on the go. Are they the coolest sunglasses I’ve seen in some time because of that? Yessir.
  • The Summer Sipper: Proper No. Twelve Irish Whiskey, Price Varies — Let’s talk whiskey for one second. While I love a summer beer as much as the next guy, I’ve found Proper No. Twelve to be a surprisingly enjoyable summer sipper when enjoyed on the rocks or with some club soda. Perhaps you’ll feel the same about Connor McGregor’s whiskey brand, no?

Alright, so perhaps this #OOTD is now changing how you think about, well, how to wear chinos this summer, right? Critically, it all starts with some Todd Snyder chinos that balance dressy and casual style quite nicely (if I do say so myself). We’ll take it a step further with something that’s perhaps expected, but no less cool — one of the best short-sleeve shirts for summer, courtesy of our pals at Buck Mason. How do you shake things up even further beyond that? Go for a rugged chore jacket to give this look some extra edge, then slide right into stylish leather loafers for a nice change of pace (seriously, Nisolo makes some of the most sustainable men’s footwear out there, too). Naturally, this look calls for stylish accessories that stand out in the right way — enter the best leather belt from Billykirk, then accent it with a stylish leather watch from VAER Watches for all-day style and durability. And for functional day-to-night style on the go (socially distanced), I think you’ll certainly find some unique, foldable sunglasses are just the right move here. Pop ’em in the pocket of your denim chore jacket when the sun goes down. Of course, what’s this look missing? Why a fine summer sipper in the form of Proper No. Twelve whiskey — how’s that sound? Can’t get any better. If you’ve got thoughts on this look, head to Twitter to give me your take. Thanks for reading — stay stylish!

#OOTD: Try Out This Cool Way to Wear Your Boat Shoes This Summer

As the summer months roll on in a socially distanced fashion, perhaps you realize you’re running out of ways to wear, let’s say, your favorite boat shoes. That’s what we’re here to fix today. From the right way to wear a henley to the best way to wear a polo for summer, rest assured that we’ve got plenty of style inspiration to pull from today — even if you think you’ve seen it all when it comes to summer boat shoes. The crucial first step? Finding the right pair, and that’s before you even think about putting together an ensemble. In that regard, I think you’re going to like today’s pick from Todd Snyder x Sebago — the update is a fittingly all-American take on classic boat shoes, one that feels fresh and modern without overdoing it. That means these boat shoes can stand up to time on the dock or the waterfront, and they’ll look great when you’re back on dry land, kicked up with a cold beer in hand. We’ll step away from the routine a bit though as far as the rest of your summer style essentials. In this instance, that means we’re layering up one of the best short-sleeve shirts for summer atop a classic white tee — rather than going for a more standard polo. And once you’ve found the best dive watch, the right sunglasses and a cool cap, I’d say you’ve got the makings of a perfect summer look (even if everyone’s routines are different these days). But again, it all starts with the stylish boat shoes on your feet. Get ready accordingly, starting with the full look below. Thanks for reading!

Cool-as-heck boat shoes, worn in an equally cool manner.

Yet again, just when you thought you’d seen it all when it comes to boat shoes, I hope this #OOTD was able to change your mind a bit. It’s critical that you build from the ground up with nothing less than the best boat shoes, a truly unique pair from Todd Snyder and Sebago in a fresh white color. Those boat shoes are grounded by the rest of the outfit, which still manages to break free from the everyday — I’m referring, of course, to the rugged short-sleeve shirt from Taylor Stitch, worn breezy and open atop your new favorite T-shirt for all-day summer style (this look would work especially well if you’re wondering what to wear for the Fourth of July!). That combo really gets taken up a notch when you consider the fact that you’re wearing some of the most versatile shorts for summer — the sort of shorts you can wear to swim, grill or hike without missing a beat. Things get even better, though — your rugged dive watch provides similar versatility for day-to-night style, while a tough tote bag from Billykirk helps to haul absolutely every single thing you need for a socially distanced summer day. Naturally, the crucial Huckberry Explorer’s Cap helps top everything off in functional summer style, while the incredibly innovative Tens sunglasses shown here are also a fitting seasonal move. Have questions on what to wear this summer, or on any of the above items? Hit me up on Twitter. Thanks for reading!

#OOTD: Try Out This Way to Wear a Camp Collar Shirt for Summer

We’ve talked through plenty of different ways here on the blog in recent weeks and months about how to get dressed for spring and summer. Namely, about how to do things like wear your favorite shirt or stock up on gear to wear to work from home, and that trend is continuing to pick up steam. So far, the summer is shaping up to be mighty different than the one we all had in mind, I would imagine, but that’s no excuse for shelving your summer style essentials. Instead, let’s look to one of the best short-sleeve shirts out there — and a unique way to wear it, no less. The camp collar shirt is a classic men’s style piece that’s seen a comeback in recent years, as designers have looked to the ’50s and ’60s (hello, Mad Men!) for retro style cues, and that’s never really faded — in fact, it’s only picked up, as you’ll see by the stylish camp collar shirt we’ve got in today’s #OOTD.

Crucially, the camp collar shirt is a change of pace from your summer polo or traditional short-sleeve buttondown, all owing to the open collar and the boxier, straight-fit cut. That means it’s one of the best short-sleeve shirts for throwing on at a (modified) family BBQ or for lounging around the house (both of which are liable to happen plenty these days!). Plus, putting on a cool summer shirt just seems to pair better with a lovely summer cocktail than the same tee or henley you’ve been wearing all day (guilty as charged!). In this instance, it gets paired up with pieces you’d expect but might not have previously considered — stylish summer shorts actually take a bit of a back seat here for classic summer pants, and we’re switching out canvas sneakers for ever-so-cool leather loafers. It’s all geared toward adding a bit of refinement and classic style to your life at home. Check out the full look  below, then be sure to get in touch on Twitter to tell me how you’re styling it.

  • The Shirt: Mollusk Aloha Shirt, $88 — When trying out something new like a camp collar shirt, it’s perhaps best not to invest too much. That’s where the ever-stylish Mollusk Aloha Shirt (certainly, one of the best shirts under $100) comes into play.
  • The Pants: Buck Mason Slub Twill Officer Pants, $135 — That’s right, we’re trading in stylish summer shorts for something a bit more refined for cocktail hour, and these Buck Mason twill pants are just the ticket. Lightweight, breathable and ideal to wear now & then into fall and winter. The best men’s pants? Very nearly.
  • The Loafers: Yuketen Bit Loafers, $288.98 — We’re also swapping out summer sneakers for something with a touch more refinement, and these stylish leather loafers are easy to wear … and easy to look great in while kicked back Consider them some of the coolest summer shoes — and the most unique.
  • The Watch: About Vintage 1926 At’sea Watch, $375 — You better believe this stylish dive watch is back today on the blog, and in a big way. It’s rugged, it’s versatile, it’s dressy-yet-casual … it could be the perfect watch for summer.
  • The Belt: Billykirk No. 354 Braided Leather Belt, $99 — This might seem like a strange time to invest in one of the best leather belts, but when you want a major change of pace from your joggers or casual drawstring shorts (again, guilty as charged), it helps to have the best men’s accessories on hand. This rugged leather belt is one of ’em.
  • The Sunglasses: Pacifico Optical Buckler Sunglasses, $195 — Spending hours in the sun on your patio requires stylish sunglasses (and the best sunscreen, to be sure), so look great in the seasonal heat wearing these Pacifico Optical sunglasses.
  • The Essential Summer Beer: New Belgium Mural Agua Fresca Cerveza, Price Varies — To me, there’s nothing more enjoyable for summer than kicking back, cold beer in hand and my favorite summer tunes playing. The light, refreshing New Belgium Mural does a wonderful job at blending flavors like watermelon and lime into a low-ABV drinking experience. Cheers, folks.
  • The Audio Experience: Gingko HiFi Square Speaker, $99 — As I mentioned before, what pairs better with a great summer beer than one of the best wireless speakers with which to enjoy your favorite summer songs? Not much, folks — not much at all.

If at first you feel intimidated by the prospect of switching up your summer wardrobe and swapping your favorite tee for the camp collar shirt shown above, that’s completely understandable. In these largely casual times we now live in, even something as laidback and breezy as the Mollusk Aloha Shirt can raise eyebrows. But the dividends that come from switching things up and getting dressed for an at-home date night or family dinner? Now, those are pretty cool — and heck, you can keep this outfit handy for when it’s finally time to return to a (somewhat) normal life. The right men’s style essentials help amp things up a notch, including the best men’s pants for summer, plus some seriously stylish, classic leather loafers. Those two moves are a nice change of pace that fit right in alongside a stylish dive watch for instantly rugged-yet-versatile style you can rock all day. But as you well know, no stylish summer ensemble is complete without equally stylish sunglasses for long days in the sun, so prepare accordingly.

#OOTD: This is How You Should Wear High-Top Sneakers This Summer

There are assuredly certain pieces every guy needs in his summer wardrobe, certain pieces that can go the distance time and time again. So it goes with classic high-top sneakers, and with that, I’m inviting you to join us for another entry in our #OOTD series. We’ve previously talked about how to wear classic white sneakers here on the blog, and today, we’re building another ensemble around some of the best sneakers for men — the  best high-top sneakers around, no less. The right pair of high-top sneakers (as with the below GREATS Royale High Blanco) are dressy enough to be worn outside the home (when the time comes), yet they function remarkably well throughout plenty of other seasonal dressing occasions — especially of the “relaxing on the porch” variety. The key comes in finding the right pieces with which to wear your new summer sneakers, so that means we’re going breezy with a lightweight summer shirt and some classic men’s chinos (also made out of remarkably light fabric). Places in which to wear white sneakers might seem a little few and far between these days, especially given the state of the world, but I’d say that as with most style advice right  now, keep these suggestions handy when better days roll around — and if you feel like going all out and dressing in style at home, then the best white high-top sneakers certainly won’t let you down. Have any thoughts as to what you want to see on the blog? Feel free to drop me a line via Twitter.

Crisp and classic white high-top sneakers to wear this summer.

  • The Sneakers: GREATS Brand Royale High Blanco, $199 — Yes, when shopping for your new favorite sneakers, you’d do very well indeed to consider the GREATS Royale High Blanco. Sharply designed and wearable with plenty of summer style essentials, they’re a new #OOTD centerpiece.
  • The Shirt: Grayers Portofino Featherweight Poplin Shirt, $98 — The best pairing alongside new high-top sneakers? A breezy, stylish summer shirt, as in the Portofino Poplin Shirt from Grayers. It’ll be a new everyday summer shirt (quite possibly), given the easygoing wearability.
  • The Tee: Mott and Bow Carlton Heavyweight Pocket Tee, $35 — Now, not every single day is going to call for layering up with a stylish pocket tee, but on chilly summer nights, you’ll be glad you picked up this classic summer tee (perhaps a three-pack) from the makers of your favorite denim — right?
  • The Pants: Flint and TInder Lightweight Stretch Chinos, $98 — Leave it to Flint and Tinder to  craft some of the best chinos for summer (heck, some of the best men’s chinos — period).
  • The Watch: About Vintage 1926 At’sea, $375 — A classic dive watch is an easy style pick most days, especially when you’re going with classic white high-top sneakers on your feet. Plus, this About Vintage watch is waterproof to 200 meters, making it quite the versatile timepiece for summer.
  • The Belt: Billykirk No. 117 Mechanic’s Belt, $99.99 — The seemingly small accessories make a huge difference, and so it goes with one of the best men’s leather belts. As always, Billykirk gets it right.
  • The Sunglasses: Tens Weston Sunglasses, $111 — In short, Tens are unlike anything you’ve ever worn before — cool shades like the Weston Sunglasses are made with custom filter lenses that literally change your outlook through rich colorways (and they just so happen to be stylish as all-get-out).
  • The Grooming Essentials: MANTL Daily Routine Set, $65.98 — Especially in the hot summer months, keeping your skin in shape is crucial. Do so with some of the best men’s grooming essentials from MANTL right here.

It might seem odd to think about ways to wear white sneakers when so many of our summer plans have changed — but hey, that style inspiration is still critical. And if I know one thing, it’s that wearing the GREATS Royale High Blanco is going to be quite fun, no matter where you take ’em. When you’ve got such a crisp, essential pair of leather sneakers, the right complementary pieces can be a bit more subtle (but no less stylish) — hence, go with a stylish summer shirt in a classic navy colorway from Grayers. Then, throw it on atop a stylish pocket T-shirt from Mott and Bow — any of the above colorways work just fine, especially if you wear your Grayers shirt unbuttoned. To polish things up ever so slightly without overdoing it during the heat of the season, some of the best chinos for summer are the right move. In short, you know you can count on Flint and Tinder to deliver quality and plenty of stretch via this pair. Because we’re going classic and sharp with this ensemble, the classic dive watch on your wrist is a smart move in terms of functionality and style points. You’ll need to keep time between sipping your favorite summer beer and manning the grill, after all. Keep it all together with one of the best men’s leather belts, a critical accessory every guy needs (especially that investment-worthy leather belt as shown above from Billykirk). I’m also a big fan of statement-making accessories like the Weston Sunglasses from Tens, so let’s go bold and have some fun here. To round it all out, make sure you’re keeping fresh and in good shape with some of the best men’s grooming essentials, OK? Alright, alright, alright.
